What is a wild mind?
Someone once told me I had a wild mind. Not gonna lie, I have no idea what exactly he meant by that. I also didn’t know what to say.
Do I take it as a compliment? A shortcoming?
I came to think of my wild mind as a good thing, even though the outside world might not always think so.
In daily life, we are trained to control our minds. We are expected to watch what we say, finish our work, and think like everyone else. There is safety in this. In doing this, though, we lose any chance to be a unique person with a truly unique life. Instead, we’re just following the rules.
A wild mind, in no way mundane or constant. Always thinking, evolving, moving. This is how the mind should be, right?
A wild mind is a source of strength and wonder. A wild mind is a necessity.
I believe we should revel in the complexities of the mind. I think that maybe if we do, the mind might not seem so distant.
Let’s celebrate together.
What it’s all about
This blog is a place to talk about the part that makes us “us”–the mind. It’s a place to search for an understanding of the good, the bad, the ugly, confusing, and downright miraculous. It’s a place for us to learn, together.
One of my main goals in life and with this blog is to help break down the stigma around mental illness. Mental illness is a serious and severely misunderstood concept that doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
This is a place where speaking openly and honestly about mental illness is not only allowed, it’s the norm.
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
